If you've been on the internet at all the past few months, you've probably seen a version or two of the "Teenage Dirtbag" trend on TikTok.
In these videos, people show themselves in the present day, before sharing a bunch of photos of themselves as teenagers years back, set to the song "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus
Now, the one-and-only Bill Nye has finally jumped on the trend.
The 66-year-old posted a video showing himself in the present on a sunny beach before all of his old photos pop on the screen, depicting Nye as a young teenager goofing off and showing interest in science (no surprise there).
There are a couple of black-and-white photos, including one in which he stands in front of a cabin looking a lot like a lumberjack. He also shared quite a few of his official school photos, and one where he's making a funny face.
In another throwback photo, a young Nye is sitting in school with a microscope on the table in front of him, while another shows him mixing two test tubes. Clearly, "Bill Nye The Science Guy" has been a lifelong title.
As you might expect, people loved seeing these old photos of Nye.
One person, @auditydraws, wrote, "Would have been pretty cool to be in science class with Bill Nye!!"
Another commented, "He really said science rules 😎."
Quite a few people also made statements complimenting Nye's looks when he was younger, with one person writing, "Why is teenage bill kinda….fine."
While this was a throwback to Nye's youth, many people felt nostalgic for their own childhood, when Nye's show, Bill Nye The Science Guy, was a regular fixture in their classroom.
One fan wrote on the post, "I actually learned more from him than i did my actual teacher lmao," while another said, "the old TV box comes into the class room you know iy was good day because they played bill nye bill bill bill bill."
