The first family of TikTok — Marc, Heidi, Dixie and Charli D’Amelio — is returning to their Norwalk roots.
On Friday, Marc tweeted a link to a profile in UConn Magazine about him and his family’s rise to social media stardom. The 1991 UConn graduate spoke to the university publication about his allegiance to UConn, as well as to his home city of Norwalk, revealing that the family decided to return to Norwalk.

“…My love of the City of Norwalk is so important to me,” he told UConn’s alumni publication. “We’re surrounded by all these affluent towns, and sometimes the schools get a bad rap. When we had the opportunity to move to Westport or Darien, we came back here to Norwalk. I’m loyal in that way. And that’s the same way I feel about UConn. If I can create a buzz about the University of Connecticut, if I can use my platform to do that, I’ll do it.”
A search of the city’s land records shows that the family purchased a condo for $1.2 million in March 2022.
In the interview with UConn Magazine, Marc discussed his latest project, the “D’Amelio Huskies Collective,” an attempt to help UConn athletes with sponsorships and advertising deals in the wake of new rules for how NCAA athletes are allowed to profit from their ‘name, image and likeness.’
“What I’m trying to do is create a personal brand development collective, where we bring not just the best basketball players, the best football players, but have a diverse collective — I want to have at least one student from every sport and help them develop deals with companies,” Marc told UConn.
This isn’t the first time Marc and the D’Amelio family have discussed their UConn and Norwalk connections. Back in February 2022, the family attended a UConn men’s basketball game, and in June, 21-year-old singer Dixie opened for Big Time Rush at Bridgeport’s Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater.
The family’s Hulu series, “The D’Amelio Show” is currently in its second season.
