Opera used to be one of the most popular web browsers around, but over time it has fallen behind Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. Now the browser is rolling out a new feature that could change all that: a TikTok sidebar. No, really.
Opera already has a customizable sidebar for quick access to music services and social media platforms, which open the specified site in a compact vertical window. Opera is now adding TikTok to the list of sidebar options, following a survey conducted by the company that reported “65 percent of the people who use TikTok from the 18-35 age group would like to use it in their desktop browser.”
Opera is rolling out TikTok integration now, which can be enabled by clicking the three dots at the bottom of the sidebar and selecting it in the ‘Messengers’ section. People using other browsers will have to continue the hardship of typing in the address, using a bookmark, or installing the Windows app.
