An H-E-B employee went viral on TikTok for joking about how she’d be rich if she was given a dollar for every time a customer asked why the store doesn’t have Apple Pay.

One H-E-B partner recently went viral on TikTok for joking about how she’d be rich if she was given a dollar for every time a customer asked why the store doesn’t have Apple Pay. TikTok user @sadieemontano wrote, “Idk (I don’t know) I just work here.”
The video, posted on October 7, showed the employee using Buddy Bucks to show how much money she would have. If you aren’t familiar with the Buddy Buck system, you get a Buddy Buck from your cashier and put it in a machine to spin and win points. It gives you a sticker worth a certain point value and you collect them to save for prizes.
The TikTok received more than 394,000 views and over 22,000 likes. In the comments, people still noted how they’d love Apple Pay at the San Antonio-based grocery chain. Alyna said, “I just wanna know tho.”
“I feel like I’m grocery shopping in 1996 when I can’t use my Apply Pay,” TikTok user @tunderscorej wrote. “I’m going to start writing checks again.”
“I’ve checked out next to so many people that had to leave their stuff cause they don’t have Apple Pay,” Evelyn pointed out.
While the store doesn’t have Apple Pay, the store launched a debit card account that gives Texas several ways to save while shopping at its stores, including cash back on eligible H-E-B items.
