“It’s Florida man Friday; you can’t make this sh*t up.”
If you recognize this line, chances are good you’ve encountered social media sensation Sarah Hester Ross on TikTok or Instagram, where the singer and comedian has amassed over two million followers by posting new episodes of the viral weekly series, where wild stories from the Sunshine State are recounted in song while Ross plays lighthearted piano riffs.
With the massive success of “Florida Man Friday” (and its midweek spinoff, “Florida Woman Wednesday”) it seems only fitting that Ross’ brand-new tour is kicking off in Florida, playing its inaugural show in Naples, before coming to Orlando Improv on Aug. 24.

“It just kind of worked out that Florida would be my first stop, which is I think kismet because I’m from Florida and most of my success on social media started with my Florida man and Florida woman videos, so I thought it was quite appropriate,” Ross said about launching her new tour in the Sunshine State.
Though Ross lives in Las Vegas now, it was her time in Florida that helped her discover her proclivity for musical comedy. Like many stars who have lived in Florida, Ross worked at Orlando’s theme parks for several years, performing at Universal Orlando Resort as part of the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue as well as the seasonal Grinchmas stage production. However, it was another Orlando attraction where Ross began really finding her voice.
“I worked at the Howl at the Moon on I-drive for a year before I moved to Vegas, which is kind of where I picked up my musical comedy bug,” Ross said. “I started writing my own [bits], and that’s when I realized that writing comedy was something that I really enjoyed. And because I was a musician, my comedy just went with music.”
A few years and millions of views later, Ross has become a must-follow on social media giant TikTok, and continues to innovate with new series like “Stop Giving Men Microphones” and original songs like “Savage Daughter” and “Life Goes On.”
As for what fans can expect to hear at Ross’ upcoming show, she says she’s excited to perform not only her greatest hits from TikTok but fresh material as well.
“The whole show is original comedy and music written by me,” she says. “I guarantee you, you will come to the show and you will hear something new and it will be funny.”
Showtime for the 21 and older Aug. 24 show at Orlando Improv is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available now, for $32 per person. More information can be found on
