Seeing an opportunity to connect with the public in a new way, Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit created a TikTok account in November 2021 where he, with the occasional help of “younger” staffers, showcases some of what the prosecutor’s office does and explains the complexity of recent legal challenges.
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Where some might see a public official on TikTok as “cringe,” others see it as an opportunity to help educate and inform the masses.
What started as a place for people to make and share short videos of friends dancing to what ever tune sparked their fancy has evolved into a place where millions gather to share thoughts and information about national and global events that affect our lives.
